Rambler Socket provides extension cords on demand

How many times have you cursed the electricity gods because there's no
extension cord
<http://dvice.com/archives/2006/10/review-powersquid-calamari-is.php> to be
found right when you really need one. This problem would be solved for all
time if only every power outlet were like the Rambler Socket: an outlet with
an extension cord hiding in the wall behind.
From the mind of designer Meysam Movahedi, the Rambler Socket holds 5 feet
of power cable, ready to pop out of the wall when you need a little more
wiggle room while vacuuming, or for when that lamp isn't quite in the right
place. A short tug activates the the spring mechanism to retract the cord.
Of course, the Rambler is just a concept right now, but one we'd love to see
in pretty much all homes of the future.
