The Wellcome Image Awards recognise the creators of the most informative, striking and technically excellent images among recent acquisitions to the Wellcome Images collection of medical and historical images.
Selected by a panel of expert judges, the
images have been created using techniques ranging from light and
electron microscopy to illustration and photography.
Can I see these images in person?
These images are also on display in Wellcome
Collection from 14 October 2009 to spring 2010. See

How are images chosen? Can I submit an image?
Any images contributed to Wellcome Images will
automatically be eligible for the following year's Image Awards. To
